Mosquito Control

The City of Chesterfield contracts with St. Louis County Department of Health to provide mosquito control services to the City. These services include the treatment of mosquito breeding sites on public land and spraying to control adult mosquitoes. Breeding sites will be monitored on a regular basis. The decision to spray for adult mosquito control is primarily based upon mosquito surveillance information and other factors including the human health threat from West Nile virus.

Spraying is done in Chesterfield on Sunday evenings beginning in late spring and continuing until the first hard freeze in the fall. Residents who have mosquito complaints may contact Chesterfield City Hall at 636-537-4000 or the St. Louis County Health Department directly at 314-615-0680. They will monitor the areas brought to their attention and will add to their spraying route as necessary.

Residents wanting information on the general location of mosquito spraying in St. Louis County can call the Health Department's hotline at 314-615-4284 (615-4BUG). A recorded message is updated daily between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
