Safe Exchange Zone
Locally, and across the country, Police Departments have begun establishing safe locations on their Police Department/City Hall parking lots for residents to transact personal business such as a “Craigslist” sale/trade exchange. This response has come about as a result of an increase in the number of such sale and trade transactions taking place in unsafe environments, which then sometimes result in criminal activity.
In the interest of providing a safe means of conducting such transactions for our Chesterfield residents, the Police Department plans to establish a ‘Safe Exchange Zone” on our City Hall property for the public transaction of business such as “Craigslist sales.” The intent is to designate an area, provide appropriate
signage, and install video cameras so as to monitor any such transactions by the public. Please call 636.537.3000 if you have questions or concerns.
