Salary

The Chesterfield Police Department offers excellent starting pay, merit raises, and many opportunities for specialization, promotion and advancement. The current Police Officer Starting Salary is $ 61,462.00 (with Missouri P.O.S.T. certification)

Requirements
Applicants must be at least 21 years old upon graduation from the police academy, be a US citizen, possess a High School Diploma or GED certificate, must be free from conviction of a Felony or a Class "A" Misdemeanor, must possess a valid Operator's License from any State at the time of application, must possess a valid Missouri Operator's License by date of employment and must have an "Honorable" discharge if having served in the military.


Competitive Selection Process

Under the regulations of the Police Department, all appointments to the Chesterfield Police Department are made on the basis of an open, competitive selection process conducted under the supervision of the Division of Administration. Each applicant must successfully complete each stage of the selection process before becoming eligible to proceed to the next step. The selection steps, in their order, take approximately three to six months to complete.
