FEMA Releases Preliminary Flood Maps for Chesterfield: Public Invited to Review and Comment
CHESTERFIELD, Mo., October 23, 2024. —Since 2018, the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have been working to update the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) and the Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report within St. Louis County, including the City of Chesterfield. This work is being performed under FEMA’s Risk Mapping, Assessment, and Planning (Risk MAP) program.
On October 17, 2024, FEMA issued a letter indicating that the preliminary FIRMs and FIS report are available for review and comment. The letter with links to the preliminary FIRMs and FIS report can be found on the City’s website at https://www.chesterfield.mo.us/proposed-firms.html. As noted in the letter, any comments regarding non-technical information should be provided to the identified SEMA contact no later than 30 days from the date of the letter.
