Chesterfield ranked 17th “Best Small City to Start a Business” out of 1,268 cities in the U.S.

Chesterfield, Missouri was ranked as the 17th “Best Small City to Start a Business” in the U.S. in a recent study from WalletHub. To find the best small cities in which to start a business, WalletHub’s analysts compared 1,268 cities across three key dimensions: 1) Business Environment, 2) Access to Resources and 3) Business Costs for cities with a population size between 25,000 and 100,000 residents.

First, the analysts compiled 15 relevant metrics (found here www.wallethub.com/edu/best-small-cities-to-start-a-business/20180/#methodology), then calculated the overall score for each city using the weighted average across all metrics and finally ranked the cities accordingly. Chesterfield’s total score was 43.94, ranking 190th for Business Environment, 23rd for its Access to Resources and 548th for Business Costs.
