CHESTERFIELD AIRPORT ROAD RESURFACING ST. LOUIS COUNTY PROJECT NO. AR-174

Project Notification Letter

Dear property Owner or Occupant:

We would like to advise you that a contract for roadway improvements to Chesterfield Airport Road has been awarded to L. Krupp Construction Inc., 415 Old State Road, Ellisville, Missouri 63021. The project limits are the entire length of Chesterfield Airport Road from the I-64 ramps just west of Olive Street Road to the I-64 on-ramp at Baxter Road.

This project is funded by St. Louis County and will be accomplished without additional direct cost to you. As taxpayers, we all share in the cost of projects throughout St. Louis county. The project provides for removal and replacement of deteriorated and/or damaged pavement, roadway milling and asphalt overlay; replacement of curb ramps to comply with ADA requirements, installation of traffic signal equipment and various other incidental items.

Please be advised that construction work is scheduled to begin in the early December of 2019, weather permitting. The length of the construction period is a concern to most people. Unfortunately, the complexity of the construction work combined with the unpredictable weather in the St. Louis region will dictate the length of time for completion. With this in mind, we would expect that the paving work on the project will be completed by summer of 2020.

Most construction work performed will generally take place between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 3:30 P.M. weekdays, however, asphalt paving operations are schedule to take place at night. Lane restrictions will be in place at various times and locations, but no complete street closures are anticipated. It is recommended that alternative routes/parking be determined, and/or sufficient time be allotted for your daily commutes. Emergency vehicles such as police, fire and ambulance will be advised of the construction, thereby allowing these agencies to plan in advance in case there is an emergency in your area. No commercial entrances along the route will be closed completely for any given time.

Mr. Justin Ryder, Project Manager for St. Louis County, will be the Resident Engineer assigned to the project. Mr. Ryder may be reached at 314-615-6679 to respond to on-site inquiries. Should Mr. Ryder not be available, please contact Mr. Greg Poppitz, Supervisor, Project Managers, at 314-615-1160 during normal working hours (7:00 A.M. to  3:30 P.M., M-F). A voice mail message may be left at either of these numbers and a response will be returned as soon as possible. Mark Reizer Jr. will be the Project Manager for Krupp Construction and can be reached at 636-391-8844. If there is an emergency after normal working hours, please contact the St. Louis County Police Dispatcher at 636-529-8210.

We appreciate your patience during the construction of this project and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Every effort will be made to complete the construction work as soon as possible. Remember, construction areas can be dangerous. If you have children, remind them to stay away from the work areas at all times. For the safety of the traveling public, yourself, and the workers, please reduce your speed and drive cautiously through the construction zone.
