St. Louis Composting & Ted Jansen Green Teamed

At the August 19 City Council meeting, the Citizens Committee for the Environment (CCE)recognized two recipients for a Green Team Designation. St. Louis Composting has long been a partner of CCE, having participated in numerous Earth Day events. Ted Jansen is a Chesterfield resident and local bee keeper who is being recognized for his efforts in educating about pollinators and for providing local honey. Since health issues prevented him from attending, accepting on his behalf were his three children and their families. We learned today that Mr. Jansen passed away on September 3. The Committee is proud to say that Mr. Jansen's work will long live on.

These will represent the 54th and 55th recipients of the "Green Team" emblem from the CCE, who are chosen for distinction in their outstanding or innovative environmental efforts. The recipients have educated and facilitated change by encouraging the reduction, reuse or recycling of solid waste materials destined for landfills; and/or helped enhance native/natural world conservation.

The Citizens Committee for the Environment is a volunteer committee of the City of Chesterfield and has been in existence for 23 years.
