Chesterfield Valley Watch - Monday 2015-6-22

June 22, 2015

As noted in yesterday's update, the Valley Watch has been discontinued.  However, after viewing yesterday's published e mail, I noticed a typo where I described the threshold for cancellation.  Yesterday's update incorrectly stated that the Valley Watch would be discontinued when the St. Charles gauge read 32 and the river was falling.

The actual, correct threshold to continue the Valley Watch is a reading of 30 at the St. Charles Gauge, with the water levels falling concurrently.  Although the text was incorrectly reported yesterday (sorry for the typo), the threshold for cancellation had been met and the Valley Watch has been discontinued.

Since I needed to send out this e mail correction anyway, I've provided the river gauge readings below.  The river at both Hermman and St. Charles, is continuing the rapid downward trend.  A short duration crest event is expected later this week, albeit at levels lower than the current levels, before the river continues its fall and retraction to within its banks.

The Hermann Gauge read 24.42 this morning at 7:30 a.m., while the St. Charles gauge read 28.05, also at 7:30 a.m.
