Republic Services-Yard Waste Pickup Suspension

In response to the current pandemic, Republic Services is suspending yard waste services, effective Tuesday 3/17/20 through Friday 3/27/20, resuming the week of Monday 3/30/20.

This temporary yard waste suspension request will enable us to place all drivers on trash/recycle routes; therefore, focusing on the basic services for all residents.  As many are reacting to child care needs, caring for our elders, etc., so are our drivers.

Upon resuming yard waste services, we commit to getting all customers affected by this suspension cleaned up, regardless of any yard waste limits that may be contractually outlined.

As many of you are reacting daily to this ever-changing pandemic, we are too.  Republic Services will continue to update you as needed.  Thank you!

The Stay at Home Order declared by County Executive Sam Page delineates essential services and functions.  Trash removal is an essential service.  Yard waste removal is not.  Republic is down drivers due to the pandemic.  They are using the drivers they have to concentrate on solid waste and recycling services, which are automated and can be provided from the truck, without touching bags or cans.  Until the Order is rescinded residents will need to keep their yard waste or dispose of it via other lawful means.  I know this is inconvenient, but unfortunately there are many inconveniences we are all dealing with right now.
